For some celebs, Dancing With the Stars isn't just about competing, it's a lifestyle change. Kelly Osbourne, arguably the show's most well-known transformation, lost over 40 pounds during her time on DWTS. It wasn't easy either: Kelly dropped the weight through a combination of dance rehearsals, outside exercise, and a diet makeover. Two years later, the changes have stuck and Kelly is looking better than ever. And while Kelly might be the most famous DWTS alum to lose weight, she's certainly not alone. Tia Carrere was the first DWTS celeb to walk away from the show with a noticeable body transformation. In 2006, Tia joined the show just two months after delivering a baby girl. Tia told People that since all the dances worked different muscle groups, she was receiving a total-body workout.
Hard to imagine that the already-svelte Jane Seymour could drop any more weight, but that's exactly what happened during her 2007 DWTS appearance. Jane lost a total of 20 pounds and also toned up, both of which helped to eliminate her chronic back pain. She told TV Guide, "I was 128 before I started, which was heavy for me. That's a good seven or eight pounds heavier than I ever like to be. Now I'm 108. And it's all muscle."
When Jennie Garth joined the season five cast of DWTS, she was already in the process of losing the baby weight gained during her third pregnancy. But once DWTS rehearsals started, the extra inches melted off. Jennie lost 10 pounds and dropped two jean sizes, and her body became toned and defined.
Now even a tinier package, Lil' Kim lost 20 pounds during her 2009 stint on DWTS. In addition to rehearsals, she worked out with trainer Jonas Serrano and gave herself a diet makeover byjoining the food delivery service Freshology. She now eats a total of 1,200 to 1,400 calories a day, avoids heavy foods, and drinks a lot of water.
The fifth season of DWTS was a biggie for celebrity weight loss. Besides Jane Seymour and Jennie Garth, Marie Osmond also dropped a significant amount of weight on the show — 31 pounds to be exact!
Kirstie Alley's DWTS weight loss began before rehearsals for the 2011 season even started, and at a DWTS cast reveal, she told reporters that she hoped to lose another 30 pounds during her time on the show.
Since her season ended, Kirstie, 60, has lost a total of 100 pounds, which she debuted on the runway during New York Fashion Week last year. Kirstie also credits Organic Liaison (the first USDA-certified organic weight-loss product) for her dramatic weight loss.
Ricki may have gained some weight after falling in love, but she danced it all away last year! After competing in DWTS, Ricki lost over 15 pounds and 13 inches!
